In all these law enforcement schemes the alleged terrorists masterminds end up seeming, when the full story comes out, unable to terrorize their way out of a paper bag without law enforcement tutelage. ("They teach you how to make all this stuff out of simple household items," one of the kids says on a recording quoted in the FBI affidavit about a book he has just discovered, The Anarchist Cookbook. Someone asks him how much it says explosives cost. "I'm not sure," he responds, "I just downloaded it last night.") It's a perfect example of how post-9/11 fear made law enforcement tactics seem acceptable that were previously beyond the pale.

I'm not disputing some guy was arrested, but the turd embellishments are so obvious, as to be laughable. Pretty much standard fare for gowilkes libs.
But speaking to the actual incident, the FBI has a long track record of jacking up some mentally challenged individuals; actually giving them fake bombs and tons of encouragement. Then arresting them when they push the "button". Lot's of time they plead guilty, so they can go to prison and have the gov pay for needed dental work. They think it's a good deal. Gives you some idea of the level.
It's basically a false flag op, to demonize a certain group.
Also, the feds hype these incidents, as boilerplate to justify more funding, and an entree to their police state goals.
